KSMU Informed Voter Coalition Candidate Interviews for Christian County Western District Commissioner Candidates were interviewed individually and asked the same questions. They had one minute to introduce themselves and two minutes to respond to each question. Questions were submitted by Informed Voter Coalition partner organizations and were not provided to the candidates in advance. The order of the candidate interviews was determined by a random drawing. A unique idea 💡 to make reading easier and more convenient for students at the high school and SCORE has turned into a real page turner 📚 with everyone wanting more. Library media specialist Sheila Michaels wanted to grow the love of reading, and knew the time students have to explore the 15,000 books in the library wasn't adding up, so she came up with the idea of delivering books free of charge to students in class. Students and staff begin the process by filling out a short questionnaire answering some basic questions about the kind of books they like, then Sheila and fellow library media specialist Julie Staats go to work picking out a couple books they think will fit the readers taste. The book boxes are then delivered with some goodies. When students or staff are finished with the books they send the boxes back, and share how well they liked the book. Then the process starts all over again with a new book box. Great idea Sheila 👏!
